Au Pair job description

Our kids are ages 7, 4 and 2. Children are in daycare & school. Your responsibilities would include the things that most parents do day-to-day to keep the house/family running smoothly: - Cook/help prepare dinner (eg. chop veggies, make salad. Simple meals) - Some childcare including drop off/pick up from daycare/school/hobbies - Light housework & tidying (eg. vacuum, dinner clean up, put toys away) - Help with laundry (eg. change sheets, hang laundry, put laundry away) - Some grocery shopping (main groceries to be purchased by parents) Each day will be a little different depending on what is needed, and how you want to plan your chores. We need help mostly during the day, but also some evenings. We are looking for someone who will be with us at least 9-12 months - even longer if everyone is happy :-) Qualities that we are looking for: organized, patient, trustworthy, calm, has common sense, motivated, a self-starter, neat, a quick learner, friendly, and loves children.

Family's Message to Au Pairs

We are a busy family with 3 happy kids :-) Mom is returning to work in fall 2010 and we need your help to make it through each week. We are looking for someone who is organized and does not mind constantly changing routines (eg. when kids are sick etc.). In addition to being able to help with the kids, we really need someone who can help with the cooking, as the kids are usually starving when they get home. And, we would hope that you can handle the post-dinner clean-up so that we parents can spend some quality time with our kids before we put them to bed. We live in Espoo, which is Finland's second largest city just outside of Helsinki. Our home is a 1 km walk (or bus ride) from Tapiola (a shopping area) and a 15-20 minute bus ride from the center of Helsinki - so there is lots of opportunity to enjoy the cultural and social aspects of Finland in your free time. We live in an area with lots of wooded paths, so if jogging and/or nature are your thing, then this is a really nice place to be. If this sounds like a job that interests you, please be in touch.
