Dear my future host family, My name is Rungrueang . You can call me Rung. I am 26 years old and I am a girl from the northeastern part of Thailand. I live in a big city which is called Ubon Ratchathani. I graduated from Ubonratchathani University with English and Communication degree and I chose Tourism as my minor.About my future plans, I want to be an English teacher or a designer and I am interested about beauty business such as salon or selling cloth which designed by me. I am a sociable person who likes to meet new people and learn new culture. I love to explore the world which is why I decided to visited America in March, 2009. Back then, I was in Panama City Beach, Florida for 4 months and worked at Emerald Falls Family Recreation as a Kiddies Ride attendant and a Customer Service. It was fantastic first experience abroad. I like to hang out with friends and my family. I also collect hair accessories, necklace, bracelet and earring. I currently attend to take photo on my days off. Taking photo practices my concentration and creativity There are 5 people in my family includes my dad, mom, elder brother, elder sister, and myself. I also have two nephews (15 years old and 11 years old). I like my big family because I have a chance to spend time with people in every ages of life. We are really close to each other. I love my family so much and I would love to do everything to make them happy. About my childcare experience, I have been caring 2 of my nephews; 15 years old boy “Smile” and 11 years old boy “Mixer” since January 1999. That is so long since they were 2 months until October 2010. I have been helping their parents taking care of them when they are busy at work. My duties are taking them to a park, riding a bike and finding activities. Moreover, I also pick them up from school, help with their homework and cooking for them sometimes. I love to join many outdoor activities such as going to the zoo park, picnicking at the waterfall and go to the temple for make a merit. I have been an assistant English teacher at I was assigned for caring a group of children aged 3-6 years old. My duties are planning activities, helping them with school works, playing with them, teaching basic skills and supervising during art session. Additionally, from January 2012 to April 2012, I looked after “Ploy” who was a 2 years old girl. I helped out with all daily routines such as changing diapers, giving a bath, bottle feeding and playing with her. Now, I am having more child care experience with infant. I am taking care of “Domon” who is 2 months old when I have free time. I helped to prepare a bottle and meal, changing diapers, shooting crying baby. Regarding my experience in Florida, I helped operating a ride for kids in Kids Kingdom. It was so much fun and I enjoyed working with parents and kids very much. When kids gave me hugs, kisses and said “thank you”, all made me smile all day. Some people said, my job seemed easy to do but I don’t think so. I needed to make sure that kids were at the safety condition. There were situations that kids did not follow the rules. After that I was moved to work in the arcade. I worked as a customer service. It was so good for me to gain more experience in other position and still work with children who come to play game machine in the arcade. I would love to give their information about how to play game and how to exchange the ticket to any gifts in our arcade. When children who cried, because they want a gift which they like but tickets that they have are not enough. I have solved this problem by give them candy of gum to soothing them cried. All those experiences are so worthwhile for me and inspire me to join the Au Pair because I would like to have enjoyable times with kids. After completing the Work and Travel Program, I also realize my English is improved a lot. Thus, I believe being an au pair and living with foreigner family would develop my English and other language even more. Most importantly, I love to be around with kids because they are innocent and always happy. In my opinion, it is such a great opportunity to work with children, learn and share our culture together. At the end of this letter, I truly thank you for all your time and interest in my profile. All I need is a chance to be an au pair in your family. Please kindly consider and give a great opportunity to do so. I am more than happy to inform you any questions, please feel free to in the future soon. Sincerely yours, Rungrueang (Rung)
