I'm Currently in Lisbon, Portugal as a childcare assistant at a school.
Thanks for your interest in my profile! My name is Mabel, I’m 29 years old, from China.
My experience with children began since my brother(He is 13 years younger than me) was born, I always liked to help my mother. Thus, I know how to take care of an infant. I was an Au Pair in Belgium , the US and also in Mexico, these are really important experiences in my life.
I was living with the same host family the entire time in the USA and Lommel, Belgium. We have a great relationship(I am still maintaining the contact with both families ). I was taking care of 2 kids in the USA, Sam(1.5 yrs right when I was their Au Pair ) and Aliyah(3yrs by then). Sam is very sweet and someone who loves dinosaurs, monsters. Aliyah is really good at languages and she can speak English ,German and Chinese very well . Both of them love stories time and running around and riding horses.
And I was taking care 2 kids in Belgium ,Albert and Jenny. Albert is a very curious and bright boy. He is 10 years old right now. He loves playing Legos, board games, cards, riding a bike, and reading, especially everything about cars. And he also likes playing sports like basketball, badminton, and swimming. We had so much fun together, and he also taught me a lot, like the culture of Belgium, games, and so on. Jenny is 5. She is a super lovely girl. She loves everything about Princess, K3, Hello Kitty, and Dora. We spent hours playing house. And she also enjoys painting. She is very creative in painting. Jenny also loves playing puzzles, doing picnics, kids’ museum, and playing on the ground. She is willing to try new things. Every day she is up to do something different.
Time runs so fast. I finished my 2-year program as an Au pair in different countries. It was so difficult to say goodbye to them and I miss them a lot even though I have left the second family for almost 1 year.
And in Feb of 2021, I found a host family in Baja California Sur, Mexico. And I was with them for 3 months. I took care of 2 girls, Victoria who was 9 years old, and Gabriela who was 6 years old they were homeschooling at that time when I was Au pair. we hang out a lot in the backyard since covid started, I gave Chinese classes to the whole family and also helped them to prepare Classes materials.
And right now, I'm a childcare assistant at a school in Portugal. I will finish my contract at the end of Jan and I'm looking for new opportunities.
These experiences are unforgettable with a lot of gains, learning a new language, experiencing a new culture, learning how to communicate with strangers, playing with children, and taking care of them. The experience makes me much more confident to be a nanny. And also because I love children. I feel happy to look after, play with, and understand children.
I’m an active person. I always have so much fun during the weekends, going camping or learning a lot of new and interesting things. I should say that some parts of my soul are still like a child. I know the value that a child has is in their funny strange questions yet usually very intelligent. They express their smiles as a wonderful way to be naive. In my mind, children need people that are sensible to understand their sorrows and joys. And children should never be underestimated, as they need to be treated with respect and taken seriously. I enjoy spending time with them, entertaining them, and helping with their age problems and curiosity. I can describe myself as a calm, flexible, organized, clean, funny, friendly, responsible, and happy person.
In my free time, I enjoy doing different kinds of activities. Traveling is my favorite. I also prefer going to the gym, cinema, and museums, reading, listening to music, playing puzzles, running, photographing, watching cartoons, and cooking, especially Chinese food and Pasta. Exactly, I’m fond of creating new things in the kitchen. I’m an optimistic person and I try to see the positive side of every situation.
